Rumor: iPhone 5 to Indeed Have Radically New Design?
While the iPhone 5 hasn’t been announced yet, but that has not stopped accessory makers from posting upcoming cases for the highly anticipated handset. Many not so up and up case manufacturers from Asia have been dropping cases for the past few months fueling the rumor mill that there is a radically new phone design. Based on a leaked design schematic that leaked out a few months ago.

Just this morning, Case-Mate has published a page on its website with six different case designs for the new iPhone 5, and we’re loving the radical new body shown in the images. There has been tons of speculation that the iPhone 5 will be thinner and lighter than the current model and these cases suggest it will have tapered edges and a slim profile as well. The first reports of the radical redesign came from Joshua Topolsky over at This is My Next, back in April. As we get closer to the launch date there will most likely be more of these rumors to surface.

The images appear to an aluminum back on the fifth-generation iPhone, which also jibes with earlier reports. The iPhone 5 is expected to be available in the United States in October, so we’re not surprised to see leaks like this start to spill out across the web. One could hope that we will see some concrete evidence to support this new design, outside of a case and a picture of parts.

UPDATE: Case-Mate has pulled the iPhone 5 cases from it
